McDougall – Mobile Micro Show 25
Wow, our 25th episode! And what a good one it is! We caught up with folk/blues singer McDougall just before he started his first tour of the year which will take him up and down the West Coast. We drove out to a park near Battle Ground, Washington and he played us a few tunes, one new and one old as well as answered some questions about how he got started and where you can see him on tour.
Mobile Micro Show 23: Cody Weathers
Our very first Portland Mobile Micro Show! Cody Weathers has been playing music since his early teens, playing in various bands, including Flip Nasty and UFO Catcher. He now lives in Portland, OR, playing solo shows as well as with his full band, Cody Weathers & the Men Your Mama Warned You About. His scat-rock performance is fun and unique, and with over 400 songs under his belt, he’s become an unstoppable musical force to be reckoned with.
We met him near the Hawthorne bridge in downtown Portland on a Saturday afternoon to hear him play a couple tunes.
Mobile Micro Show 7: Jared Paul
To say Jared Paul is a spoken word poet is just the tip of the iceberg. Add activism and hip hop artist, and you’ve still just scratched the surface. Jared came to Reno to not only perform, but speak out about social, political, economical, personal, global, and local issues and we were lucky enough to get to spend some time with him.
Mobile Micro Show 1: Kate Cotter
Mobile Micro Show 20: The Whitney Myer Band
The Whitney Myer Band is one of the most well-known groups in the Reno/Sparks area. A popular favorite at Artown 2011, we caught up with them as they were performing in the Wingfield Park Amphitheater. Their sound is a mixture of styles, from upbeat to downtempo, and their lead singer, Whitney Myer, always sets the mood for each piece with her energetic stage presence. Enjoy!
Mobile Micro Show 21: Chad Sorg
Chad Sorg is one of Reno’s most influential and unique artists. He not only explores many different avenues of artwork, including painting, illustrating, designing, and writing, but he’s also an event coordinator and social media guru. His personal philosophy of “Me, Them, Us” emphasises how interconnected we all are and how artists can benefit by community and teamwork. He co-founded NadaDada in 2007 and also runs a project called Artist Fishbowl, where he engages with other artists, and lives in public spaces and blogs about it.
Mobile Micro Show 22: Mickie Lambert
We caught up with Mickie Lambert, painter from Sun Valley, California, at NadaDada Motel this summer. She gives some insight into her recent work and talks about her experience at NadaDada Motel. Be sure to check out her facebook page to see which paintings she has for sale!
